How to inject puree?
The basis of the diet of infants is thoracicmilk, hence the term "infants". There is no doubt that it is breast milk that serves the child for a long time (up to 10 - 12 months of life). However, pediatricians advise after six months in the diet of the child to introduce complementary foods to enrich his menu and gradually translate to a common table. Every mom should know how to inject the mashed potatoes correctly so as not to harm the baby. A complementary feeding system has been developed, where recommendations are given, at what age can specific products be introduced. A precinct pediatrician can acquaint you with it.
Choice of puree for first food
There is disagreement about whichmashed potatoes. Not so long ago, pediatricians urged their parents to start with fruit juices and mashed potatoes. Now, everyone, both doctors and parents - agree that the first lure must necessarily be vegetable puree. And we need to start with a mono-component puree, i.e. cooked not from several, but only from one vegetable. It's better if it's cauliflower, potatoes, zucchini or broccoli. These vegetables are easier to digest and are better absorbed, almost do not cause allergies.
The very first time a child should be given such apuree literally try, at the tip of a teaspoon, no more, and watch carefully for the body's reaction: is there any allergy. If an allergic reaction does not occur, the next day you can again give the same puree - no more than a teaspoon. And then again give the baby a breast, as usual.
At what age do you start lure?
The first lure is always an exciting event. It should not be administered too soon, before 6 months. First, the child must learn to sit, hold the spoon on his own, ideally the first teeth should begin to erupt. If a young mother does not know when and how to introduce complementary foods, mashed potatoes will be the best choice. Usually, children react well to new food: they look at it with interest, assess the taste.
But if your child for some reason fusses andrefuses new food - do not insist. Let him calm down, and after a few days again offer the same kind of mashed potatoes. If he does not want to eat it again, try to make mashed potatoes from another vegetable: maybe he will like the new taste more. It's possible that you are trying to give mashed potatoes too early.
Observe how the child reacts to howadults eat. And also pay attention to how it relates to the cutlery. If they are only a toy for him, then introduce lure early. It's okay if the child refuses to mash up to 8 months, but later - it should be worried
How to cook vegetable puree
The selected vegetable should be thoroughly washed in a flowingwater, then peel off (if any), then rinse again. Boil in a small amount of water. It is better not to blend it with a blender, and mash with a fork with a small amount of the same broth or breast milk (so that the child's taste seems familiar). Too much chopped and even mashed through a mesh sieve the child is difficult to swallow, then it is smeared on the walls of the stomach and poorly digested. A shredded fork with vegetables accustom the child to chew, develop a swallowing reflex.
Expansion of assortment of complementary foods
When a child has already tolerated two or threekind of vegetables, you can start offering him puree two- or three-component. Gradually, one meal is replaced with vegetable puree, by the age of 7-8 months bringing its quantity to 150 g. As the mother already knows how to introduce vegetable puree, it is possible to add fruit puree to the baby's diet. To do this, it is better to take fruit white or green, because red and orange are more likely to cause allergies. Of course, fruits, unlike vegetables, do not have to cook. The selected fruit (more often - an apple, you can pear or melon) grate on a special plastic grater for baby food.
It should not cause difficulties for parents, how to inject fruit puree. Just like it was with the vegetable. Little by little, gradually accustoming the child to a new taste and carefully monitoring the reaction of the body to a new product. Porridge, meat and fish are introduced into the diet later, closer to the year. The first food should still be vegetable puree.
