How to assemble an amplifier?

Many radio amateurs and music lovers dream about,to assemble your own amplifier. Consider how it is possible to assemble an amplifier with your own hands, what is needed for this and what needs to be taken into account when assembling the amplifier.

We collect the amplifier

First of all, it is worth noting that in this casewe will consider the assembly of a tube amplifier, since it is the simplest in its device. Almost any person can assemble it independently.

Materials

In order to assemble a tube amplifier, you canuse a variety of spare parts, including the old production. As a platform for a tube amplifier, you can use conventional plywood. You can buy spare parts in the radio shop. You can take discounted copies, the main thing is that they work properly.

  • First of all, you will need to purchase a transformer. You can use a network single-channel transformer, which is very affordable in terms of price.
  • You will need two additional small transformers, which are called sound transformers. These speakers will be connected to speakers.
  • Also you will need the lamp panels, on which the lamps will be fixed.

Next, let's look directly at the assembly of the amplifier.

Build process

  1. Take the platform for the installation of transformers. As her, as already mentioned above, you can use plywood.
  2. Secure the mains transformer to the edge of the platform, in the opposite end - two sound transformers. Fasten with conventional screws.
  3. Install the lamp mounts in the immediate vicinity.
  4. Route from a mains transformer with a secondarywinding wire that must go under the platform and connect to the capacitor through the limiting resistor, to the second filter capacitor. Fix the capacitors so that they do not fit together, and the limiter must be in contact with both capacitors as closely as possible.
  5. Fix the separation capacitors and guide themto them wires from the source of sound. From these capacitors, other wires must go, which will be connected directly to the sound transformers.
  6. Additional capacitors can be added to the circuit. This will allow you to improve the sound quality.
  7. Also do not forget to use resistors. Fasten them directly to the proximity of the capacitors, but so that they do not touch them. Resistors will resist in the electrical circuit.
  8. It is necessary to use film types of capacitors, since they are relatively inexpensive and at the same time qualitative.
  9. By connecting all the wires from the mains transformer through the capacitors to the audio transformers, you can proceed to installing the lamps.
  10. It is necessary to use combined lamps in which there is a triode and a pentode.
  11. Install the lamps on a special panel that have been fixed to your platform.
  12. Now you only need to connect the speakers to the transformers using a soldering iron.
  13. After that, you need to connect the sound source to the wires that are moving away from the capacitors.

The amplifier is ready for use.
