How to make a picture in black and white?

Instructions how to make a picture in black and white in Photoshop
- In the Photoshop editor, open the image,which you intend to convert to black and white mode. To do this, click on the right mouse button on the file with the desired image in the window of the explorer. Then in the context menu, click on "Open with." In the list of programs in which you can open the file, you need to select Photoshop.
- Translate the image in black and white. This can be done through the Image menu. In this menu, select the Mode group, and the Grayscale parameter in the menu. A visually similar result can be obtained by using the Desaturate command from the Adjustment menu in the Image menu. But in this case, the black-and-white image will be in RGB mode, which will give you the opportunity to impose on it also colored layers.
- Adjust the contrast and brightness of the image. This can be done by using the Brightness / Contrast item from Adjustment in the Image menu. In the appeared window, adjust these two parameters by dragging the "slider". The result of changing the adjustments will be immediately visible in the picture. After obtaining a positive result, click OK.
- Now save the resulting black and whiteimage in JPG format. Do this using the Save As option in the File menu. Of course, you can use the Save command to save your file, but in this case you will lose the color original image, and it may come in handy in the future.
In the window that opens, locate the type of the JPEG file, and select it, enter the name of the file to save and click on the "Save" button on the keyboard.
In the resulting JPEG settings window, you need to selectlevel of file compression. This is done by dragging the slider, or you can choose one of the 4 kinds of quality. Click OK. And the new black and white picture is ready and saved.
