The files of your operating system are necessaryupdate to improve the stability of its work and safety. But there are cases when after installation of updates there are different problems. Here you need to know how to roll back the updates correctly.

Rollback of updates in Windows XP

Before running updates, you need to create a breakpoint for recovery! This will make it possible to return the operating system to the working state.

  • In order to create a recovery point,you need to open the "Start" menu, then "All Programs", then the item "Standard", now the sub-item "Service". Select System Restore. Select the "Create recovery point" item and click "Next". A window will appear where you must specify the name of the recovery point;
  • When the computer is running after updatingincorrect, you need to remove the update. To do this, open the "Start" menu, then "Control Panel" and select "Add or Remove Programs". Now, from the top of the window, find "Show Updates" and tick. Now delete these updates. If this does not work, you should try to restore the system using the previously created checkpoint.
  • But often the recovery procedure does not help. In this case, take the installation disk, reboot the system and start it from this drive in recovery mode. Now all the files will be replaced with the originals from the CD. Data on your disk will not be affected.

There is also such an option:

  • boot the system, insert a disk with the operating system;
  • select the Windows installation;
  • In the new window that appears, select the option "Update"! By selecting it, you save the programs, settings and documents.

But failures are always possible, so beforeupdate you need to save your data on any external media. When you have only one disk, you need to break it into at least two: for the operating system and for data storage. This will significantly increase the chance of saving information: when the Os completely "flies", your data on the second disk will be untouched.
