What is a cartridge?

So what is a cartridge? This word came from the English cartridge - the cartridge to the weapon. Today it means a replacement block to some equipment that contains certain parts and components covered by a special protective shell, as well as consumables.

Most often this word we hear in relation to printers and other printers.

Installing the cartridge

What does the cartridge consist of? The printer's ink unit consists of two parts. The first is a special ink store or inkwell, and the second is a system that allows ink to be pumped through special capillaries to the nozzles, which in turn, so to speak, are fired with ink on paper. Inside this inkwell is sometimes filled with special material like a sponge, which is impregnated with ink. Sometimes the ink in this device is held by the difference in pressure.

An important part of the printer isThe head, which in some models exists as a single unit with the cartridge itself, is not disassembled, and must be replaced whenever the cartridge is changed. Other models are equipped in such a way that the head does not change, and only the ink tank that is finished is replaced.

Some printers, for example Epson, are equipped withspecial indicators that inform users about the level of ink, and do not allow the repeated use of so-called "refilled" arthridges, since this affects, in the opinion of the manufacturer, the print quality. Although our craftsmen perfectly reflash their printers, as the frequent purchase of expensive new cartridges in their plans is not included.

A little bit about ink

In different cartridges for different printersdifferently used inks. But to follow this rule is not always and not at all turns out. Moreover, in shops a large number of inexpensive and universal ones are sold, as the sellers themselves say, ink. However, such universality is not always good. Often, such inks are suitable for printing with low resolution quality, mainly for printing plain black and white text.

For excellent printing, you still have to invest in a new cartridge, factory-filled.
