Males of this breed weigh from 70 to 80 kg, the weight of a bough is 50 - 75 kg. The minimum growth of bitches is 73 cm, males are 78 cm.

- Tibetan mastiff. The breed was bred to protect the temples. The largest Tibetan mastiff, weighed over 120 kg. Nowadays, the average weight of these dogs is 65 to 85 kg, the height is from 75 to 87 cm.
- Tosa-inu. Bred for dog fights, the breed still takes part in them. Weight from 60 to 85 kg, height from 65 cm and above.
