Marking

Marking refers to everything you see ongoods, packaging or additional funds. It can be different texts, drawings, symbols, barcode. It performs several important functions, such as:

  • information - thanks to it we get all the information about the product: name, manufacturer, expiry date, composition, application, operation peculiarities;
  • Identifying - through it we learn how the products are certified (TU, GOST, ISO, etc.);
  • emotional and motivational - marking the goods attracts the buyer, and with its semantic and artistic content stimulates the purchase.

Types of markings

All types of markings can be divided into two large groups:

  • marking from the manufacturer (production);
  • marking from the sales representative (commercial).

The first group includes all the markings, whichapplied directly to the plant. Features of its registration are regulated by law. The labeling from the manufacturer includes everything that receives the goods in production: a label, stamp, stigma, control tape or tag.

The same marking is not appliedmanufacturer, and those who distribute the product (seller / supplier). It contains information not about the product itself, but its seller (address, cost, article). Basically, such marking is applied to a check or a price tag.

To date, the most common type of electronic marking is the QR code. You can learn more about it from the article How to decode the QR code.
