How to connect ports correctly
- Disconnect the computer from the mains power and remove the left cover of the system unit.
- Looking for small connectors on the motherboardyellow or blue (most often they are located at the bottom). There are two rows of small rods (also called pins or needles): in one row there are five, in the other - four. To the side in which there are five rods, let's call the side "No.1", the other side - the "No.2" side.
- At five rods of the side «№1» the marking is the following: VCC1 + 5V, Data -, Data +, Ground 1, NC. Output - NC is not used. At 4 rods of the side «№ 2» designations such - VCC2 + 5V, Data -, Data +, Ground 2. The 5th output in this row is not provided.
- We look at the finalconnector - it should have the following notations: VCC1, Data 1 -, Data 1 +, Gnd 1. The marking may differ slightly, depending on the manufacturer, the main thing is to remember that the first socket under the rod is always designated VCC or +5 V, and the last one is Ground or GND.
- The wires have four color options, which correspond to the following designations: - + 5V - red, Data - white, Data + - green and GND - black.
- Now connect the connector that passes from theUSB to the motherboard socket, that is, to the "No.1" side of the 5 cores. First, VCC1 + 5V is connected, and the last one is connected to Ground 1 (Gnd 1). The fifth needle is not connected.
- Further in exactly the same sequence - from VCC2 + 5V to Gnd 2 - we connect the side "№2" - here we do not have a free needle, and all 4 outputs must be connected.

To simplify the connection (especially it will beuseful to newcomers) there are special adapters, due to which wrong connection is excluded in principle. With the help of these adapters, the connection is possible only in one way. Usually they are designed for blue connectors on the board, they have a low board and a key. The inscription on such pins is - + 5V, P2-, P2 +, GND. The adapter is connected to the connector taking into account the symbols on it, after which it is inserted into the socket of the motherboard.
After you have connected all USB ports, do notforget to close the cover of the system unit from the side so that dust and dirt do not get inside.
