What is crying?
Some of us cry often and for any reason,and some prefer to restrain their tears. We do this for various reasons: despair, grief, fear, resentment and even joy. Most often, women and children tend to cry. In the case of small children, this is sometimes the main way of communicating with adults (they still do not know how to speak, they show their parents what they want).
It is noticed that strong people cry rarely, weak, feeling sorry for themselves - all the time. So what is crying from a scientific and literary point of view?

First of all, this is a certain kindpsychosomatic emotional action (from the verb "cry"), as well as sounds arising from this process. According to Ozhegov - voice sounds, inarticulate, expressing negative emotions, strong emotion, sometimes - joy. Synonyms for the word crying - roar, howling, sobbing. According to Ushakov - voice sounds that accompany the shedding of tears. For example: "With crying, she ran out of the room," "loud crying of children."

- A ritual song at wake, funeral, weddings. And in the old days, and even in our time, crying accompanies these events in some Russian villages. So for example, before the bride had to cry before the wedding, hence the crying. In the literature, vivid examples - "Lament of Yaroslavna" ("The Lay of Igor's Host"), people's laments.
- Isolation of juice droplets from wood with cut. For example, "birch weeping".
- And from the point of view of biology, crying is one of thephysiological reactions of a person with various emotional shocks (usually negative), accompanied by the release of tears from the corresponding glands.
