How to flash BIOS from a flash drive?
Updating (firmware) BIOS helps to solve a numberhardware problems. The most secure and reliable is the method of flashing under MS-DOS using a flash drive. So let's look at how to flash BIOS from a USB flash drive. Keep in mind that incorrect flashingcan greatly damage your PC. Therefore, you need to search only for the original firmware for your motherboard. And never put beta versions of updates, use only finished, working.
Procedure
- From the official site of your motherboard, download the updated version of BIOS, the BIOS for BIOS (the most popular are AwdFlash, AMIFlash and UniFlash) and the MS-DOS (BOOT_USB_utility) image.
- Create a bootable USB flash drive. Use empty, because it will be formatted:
- From the BOOT_USB_utility archive, install the HP USB Drive Format Utility.
- From the same archive, unzip USB DOS to any convenient folder.
- Launch the HP USB Drive Format Utility and connect the USB flash drive to the PC.
- In the Device field select your USB flash drive, select the field using DOS system files located at and specify the previously selected folder where USB DOS was unpacked.
- Click the Start button and wait for the formatting to finish and create a bootable area.
- Copy the downloaded firmware and the firmware to the flash drive (for example, awdflash.exe). Rename the firmware to flash.bin.
- Create a text document awdflash.bat on the flash drive. Write in it awdflash flash.bin / cc / cd / cp / py / sn / e / f.

- After downloading from the USB flash drive in the opened console, register awdflash.bat.
- After flashing, restart the computer and work with the new BIOS.
