How to delete BIOS?
The BIOS is the basic input / output system of youra computer that is part of the system software. It implements the possibility of protecting the PC at the highest level - it's BIOS password. If you do not enter it, the computer will not be able to boot. However, sometimes there are situations where the password is forgotten or lost, and then the users start thinking about how to remove the BIOS or reset their password. But since without a password there is neither access to its settings nor the ability to enter anything, many begin to panic. I will say at once that you should not do this, because there is nothing wrong with resetting the password. Let's now get acquainted with the BIOS features, how to delete the password in particular.
Previously, in older motherboards, there werespecial service codes are provided for resetting BIOS settings to defaults, but in modern PCs they are not available. Therefore, immediately move on to the simplest method - the hardware reset of BIOS memory, which is also called CMOS.
- Switch off the computer from the socket
- Open the system unit by unscrewing the bolts on the rear panel and removing the side cover
- Find on the motherboard (the biggest card in the system unit) a battery of non-volatile memory CMOS (a large, flat, round battery, the size of 5 cents)
- Next, if you have a jumper near it with Clear CMOS, set it to the second position
- If there is no jumper, then take out the battery itself from the plug, gently picking up the screwdriver
- Press the power button on the system unit and hold it for 10 seconds
- Now put the jumper back in its original position or replace the battery
- Close the system unit and screw it
- Now you can connect the computer to a power outlet and turn it on
When you boot, the PC will display an error message in the BIOS and boot. Also, with the password, all previously set BIOS settings will be lost.
If you use a laptop, then you willIt is necessary to find instructions on disassembling your model and repeat all the above operations. Also, do not rely on this protection very much, because the attackers also know how to delete the password in BIOS.
