How to distribute wifi without a router?

Application operation

Little is known that wi-fi adapters are capable ofwork in 2 ways: they accept the Internet or distribute an existing one. Obviously, any device that is equipped with a wi-fi module can serve as an access point. Such a device can be an ordinary laptop or a desktop PC with a wi-fi card.

Make wifi without a router using the utility Connectify will not be difficult. It is easy to use and will require only standard actions:

1. Download it to your PC.
2. Install the application. After the installation is completed, you must restart your device (computer or laptop). After downloading to the tray, a shortcut to the utility with a ticked out circle will be displayed. This indicates that there is currently no active access point. Click on the icon to display the main window of the application.
3. Here everything is elementary: in the "Name" line enter the name for the access point being generated, enter the password in the "Passphrase" line, and in the last line "Internet" you choose which Internet you will "distribute". The choice will show all available connections. For example, if you are "distributing" 3G Internet, then select the appropriate connection.
4. After you have done all this, click on the "Start Hotspot" button. All is ready! The wi-fi connection icon will be displayed in the tray.

Virtual Router Plus

There is also another simple way, likedistribute wi-fi without a router. The only drawback of this technique is that the laptop needs to be connected via a special wire or a USB modem.

1. First you need to download the program Virtual Router Plus. It does not require any installation.
2. Run it - there will be an ordinary windowprograms. Here you can enter the default settings. In the line "Network Name" you should mark the name of the new wireless network, in the "Password" line write the Wi-Fi password (it must be at least eight characters), in the "Shared Connection" line select the connection you need.
3. If you have entered all these settings, click onbutton "Start Virtual Router Plus". The program will collapse, and a message will appear that the installation was successful. That's all, now you connect your device to the Internet using a laptop.
