How to insulate walls from the outside?
The modern market is rich in diversitythermal insulation materials, which are generally divided into inorganic and organic, which in turn is the determining factor in how to insulate the walls from the outside.
Natural raw materials based on a tree,Wool and other - this is an organic TIM (thermal insulation material). However, its shortcoming, first of all, is the fragility and poor tolerance of wet conditions. Along with this, good thermal insulation and other technical characteristics show materials based on a synthetic substance. One of the most affordable modern TIM is foam polystyrene insulation, based on foam foam and extruded polystyrene foam.
How to properly insulate the wall from the outside
When exterior wall insulation is achieved such important results as:
- ensuring the construction of the house with a sparing operational regime as a result of reducing the level of exposure to external temperature changes;
- increase the heat capacity of the wall and, as a result, lowering the temperature difference inside the house itself.
Based on the characteristics of the material (wood -breathing material), as well as the parameters of the thermal insulation system in the category "price - quality", the best way of external insulation of the walls of a wooden house is recognized as the ventilated facade.
This scheme does not require subsequent plastering of the insulation, so the work can be done at any time of the year.
Initially, a layer is installed on the facadevapor barrier material of the membrane type, then a crate of wood bars or metal profiles is laid. Mineral wool plates of the required thickness are laid in the scheme of the crate, and the top is covered with a layer of windproofing, designed to protect the heater from unnecessary waterlogging and blowing. Facade facing at the end is fixed on the crate.
Warming of the brick house isin a completely different way, using foam (polystyrene foam) or cotton wool. Before you begin to insulate the walls from the outside, you need to clean and repair them, remove electrical accessories. Only after this, it will be possible to glue the foam, fix it with dowels, coat with glue mixture and strengthen the mesh. And the next day to work with decorative plaster.
How to insulate the walls of the house from the outside with expanded polystyrene
The stages and technology of this process are as follows:
- Using a special solution, polystyrene foam is glued to the wall.
- Using special anchors, additional fastening is carried out.
- At the corners fix special metal corners.
- At the joints, the mounting tape is applied and rubbed afterwards.
- Styrofoam is also insulated with all profiles.
- The final stage is represented by mashing the plaster solution.
The very same design of external warming of walls in a "wet" way, or with the use of plaster, looks like this:
- Adhesive material is applied to the masonry of ordinary brick or foam concrete blocks;
- fix the heater (they can be polystyrene foam or mineral wool slabs).
Note: for insulation of walls use dense grades of expanded polystyrene and specially made for external insulation mineral wool.
