Why is there no hot water?
The lack of hot water brings a lot of inconvenienceconsumers of utilities at any time of the year. Therefore, it is not at all surprising that residents of disconnected houses usually "cut off" telephones of management companies, wanting to know why hot water was turned off. For what reasons can utilities turn off hot water and how legitimate such a shutdown is, and will go further.
Why there is no hot water: the main reasons
-
Repair of hot water supply system. First of all, we are talking about scheduled repairs or replacement of pipes. Residents of disconnected houses should know that they must be warned about carrying out such work in advance (for example, through local media or by hanging announcements at the entrances entrance).
-
Emergency shutdown. Accidents that lead to the disconnection of hot water supply can occur at a water station (in this case cold water is often turned off), in the heating system of individual houses in the house management department, or in a pipeline (for example, a breakthrough).
-
Disconnection for non-payment. As a rule, the disconnection of hot water to an individual non-payer with utilities is extremely rare. However, this can happen in case of a very high debt accumulation by a defaulter (if such a measure is provided for by an agreement with the management company).
-
Overlapping the hot water supply valves in a particular house, apartment or porch. Sometimes this can happen by mistake.
-
Malfunction of the boiler for heating the water. This is the most likely reason why there is no hot water in homes with self-supply of hot water. Sometimes the boilers are simply not included.
-
Preventive shutdown. This may be the most likely reason why the hot water was turned off in the summer. Preventive disconnections are necessary in order to prepare a district heating system for the autumn-winter period, when it will operate at full capacity. Prevention includes technical testing and testing of heat networks for strength, as well as their diagnosis, repair, and relocation, replacement and upgrading of equipment. According to the law (point .3.1.11 SanPiN 2.1.4.2496-09) preventive disconnection should not last more than two weeks.
Of course, the lack of hot water is a very unpleasant phenomenon, because then there is the question of how to heat water and how to wash in this case. More details about this are described in the article of our site How to wash.
