What do cats tick?
Cats leave marks for two reasons: to claim rights to the territory and in search of a sexual partner. What do cats do to the territory?
- Urine. Cats leave marks, spraying a small amount of urine on vertical surfaces. Cats mark territory always, cats only during heat.
- Saliva - rubbing jaws on objects, cats leave saliva on them.
- Allocations of glands on the head - when the cat rubs your cheeks about you, most likely it just marks you, declaring its rights to you.
- Excretory glands on the pads of the paws. When cats grind their claws on the surface, they mark them with their smell.
