Where do birds winter?
Since childhood, everyone has heard of such a place as "warm lands", where winter birds fly away. No one specifies a particular country or city. But where are these warm regions? Still, where do birds winter?
Many birds with the onset of cold weather usuallyfly to more warm countries. There are more than 60 types of migratory birds. And these are only those that live in Russia and in neighboring countries. In fact, there are many more. Like people and birds, they are looking for a warmer place to rest. Therefore, usually from the north, they are sent to the south, where at this time of year it is warm. Some of the birds, for example, crows, can migrate slightly to the south of the habitat. From northern regions of Russia they can move to Ukraine.
Birds annually fly over the permanentcourse. In the same way they return home. The wintering grounds of many birds, in particular, starlings, are the countries of Europe in the western part. This could be France, Germany and Denmark. Many birds "settle" in the winter in Britain, namely swans and different kinds of ducks. Swallows, Orioles, cuckoos and flycatchers fly far farther from home, to Africa and to the Mediterranean coast.
Some birds travel to India and Japan. For example, gulls can fly to China, and can stay on the coast of the Black and Azov seas. Cranes are sent to winter in Greece, sometimes to the south of Italy. So we figured out where the birds are hibernating.
