Unfortunately, people are prone to numerous nervous diseases. One of these diseases is paresis. Let's talk about what paresis is, how and why it arises.

Paresis is a deterioration in the motor function of the musclesor limbs due to irregularities in the work of the cerebral cortex, the departments that are responsible for motor activity. Paresis can cause ischemia or stroke. At the first signs of the paresis, it must necessarily begin to be treated, since it can lead to paralysis - the complete absence of motor activity.

There are two types of pareses: organic and functional. Organic paresis occurs due to disruption of the relationship between the muscles and the brain. Functional paresis causes damage in the cerebral cortex. To treat organic paresis it is necessary to clearly identify the cause of the disease and eliminate it. To heal from the functional paresis, you need to use special treatment procedures, which will appoint a doctor.

Identify the following types of paresis, depending on the location of the damaged part of the body and the degree of damage:

  • monoparesis - one limb is affected;
  • hemiparesis - one half of the body is damaged;
  • paraparesis - symmetrical parts of the body are damaged, for example, hands;
  • tetraparesis - all four limbs are affected.
