Inflammation of the larynx is called laryngitis. The disease is characterized by an increase in body temperature, sore throat, hoarseness, or loss of voice. Before treating the ligaments, you need to understand what the ligaments are and what functions they perform. Vocal cords are elastic formations located in the middle part of the pharynx. They form the voice of a person and protect the lungs and bronchi from foreign bodies. With laryngitis, inflamed ligaments increase in size, overlapping the vocal cavity.

Vocal cords: what to treat

To prevent the transition of the disease inchronic form, you need to treat ligaments in a timely manner. First of all, you need to determine the cause of inflammation. It can be a cold or viral illness, prolonged overexertion. Therefore, when the first signs appear, it is better to consult a doctor. After removal of the inflammation by medicamental agents, physiotherapeutic treatment is prescribed. During the treatment period, the load on the ligaments should be minimized, eliminating sharp, spicy, too hot and cold dishes from the diet.

In addition to the basic treatment, one can use folk methods

  • 2-3 times a day in small sips drink warm milk with honey (1 tablespoon per glass of milk);
  • at least 3 times a day rinse the throat with decoctions of herbs (chamomile, sage, calendula);
  • mix honey with carrot juice in a 1: 1 ratio and drink several times a day;
  • in a glass of warm beer add a little milk and 1 tbsp. spoon of honey, drink overnight.

Surface treatment of laryngitis can lead tothe development of the chronic form of the disease and, as a result, the depletion of the mucous membrane of the larynx, the disturbance of laryngeal mobility, the development of polyps and tumors. To prevent complications, observe the following rules:

  • promptly consult a doctor;
  • Avoid excessive stress on the ligaments;
  • get rid of bad habits, incl. smoking;
  • Avoid external irritants (corrosive fumes, polluted air).
