What is liquidation?
The word "liquidation" is of Latin origin(from liquidatio - the end of the case). In modern Russian this word is used quite often in different areas. Let us consider in more detail what liquidation is.
The general meaning of this word is: the destruction of someone or something, as well as the cessation of someone else's activities.
For a better understanding, consider a few specific cases:
- Elimination of weapons involves the withdrawal of weapons from its owners and those who use it.
- Elimination of insects is the destruction of pests on the site.
- Elimination of an organization or enterprise iscessation of her / his activities. Liquidation of a trading enterprise can be connected with summarizing financial results and subsequent distribution of the remaining property, for example, liquidation of a bank.
- A historical example: the liquidation of the kulaks as a separate class against the background of general collectivization.
- Another vivid example: educational program - abridged "elimination of illiteracy". In Soviet Russia and the USSR, the so-called teaching of adults to writing and reading. Now the word "illiteracy" is also used in a figurative sense and refers to mass training of unprepared people for the basics, basic concepts of any theory, science, etc.
