The word "philosopher" can be translated from the Greeklanguage into Russian as "wise man". For the first time, Pythagoras called himself so. He, according to one of the works of Diogenes Laertius, wanted to emphasize that he is not a sage, but only a man striving for knowledge. The word invented by Pythagoras was adopted, but its meaning changed. Who is a philosopher today?

  • In the everyday sense, it is a person whose interests are not limited to everyday things, and also one who treats difficulties calmly.
  • In the modern world, the philosopher is a profession. Higher educational institutions train specialists dealing with issues of worldview.
  • We also call philosophers the creators of philosophical systems: Pythagoras, Hegel, Kant.
