The manufacturer is obliged to supply each unittechnicians with a unique serial number, counting which with the help of a special device, you can find out the "contact" information of the goods - the country of manufacture, the date of issue, information about the manufacturer. Mobile phones are also supplied with a serial code, but in addition, they also have an International ID - IMEI, unique to each item of the product. In this article, I'll show you how to check the IMEI of your phone and why you should check it.

Why do I need IMEI?

IMEI is "stitched" into the phone during its process.manufacturing in the factory. The mobile device broadcasts the IMEI to the operator to authorize itself in its network. The IMEI format is the same, but all international identifiers are unique, and so IMEI can be used to track and lock stolen phones. For example, an operator can "connect" to a stolen device and deny him access to options. However, unfortunately, nothing prevents an attacker from buying a SIM-card of another operator, in the network of which he was not previously authorized, and quietly use all services.

IMEI Check

IMEI phone is usually printed on the packagingdevice and is duplicated on its case - sometimes on the outer part, visible to the user's eyes, sometimes inside it. But even if you do not see IMEI on the case, and the box from the phone has long been lost, you have the ability to define IMEI. Simply dial * # 06 # on the phone, then press the call button, and IMEI will be displayed. It is a 15-digit code written without spaces or punctuation marks.

After you learn IMEI, you can goto one of the services of checking international identifiers, for example, here, select the model of your device, enter IMEI and get information about the device. In addition to the parameters and data about the manufacturer, you can also find out if the phone is listed as stolen or lost.

Such services also help to verify the authenticity of IMEI: if the international identifier you specify is counterfeit, the service will notify you about it.
