Where to fill the antifreeze?
Winter approximation is the best time to replace engine coolant, but where to fill the antifreeze, and how to do it right? In fact, the procedure is quite simple.
Before you pour new fluid, it is usefulEvaluate the state of the old antifreeze by looking in the expansion tank of the car. For a better estimate, you can use the hydrometer. Of course, you know exactly which brand of antifreeze is suitable for your car. Also you know that the new antifreeze should not be diluted with water at all - this will cause corrosion and reduce the frost resistance of the liquid.
Antifreeze replacement
So, first open the filler capradiator or expansion tank (depending on the brand of the car), on the warmed-up engine we do it very carefully. We put under the radiator container to collect the old antifreeze and open the drain plug. It is necessary to find and open the second plug on the engine block. Draining the liquid, twist the plugs back, do not forget to drain the antifreeze residues from the expansion tank.
Now you can fill the new antifreeze. We do this gradually, closing the radiator cover (the expansion tank) from time to time and gently "massaging" the upper branch pipe of the radiator. By this we expel the air remaining in the system. Fill the antifreeze to the level indicated on the expansion tank, start the engine and gently warm it up, turning on the "stove". The heater must drive warm air, the absence of heat will indicate the presence of air in the cooling system and can lead to overheating.
After complete circulation of the liquid, finally set its level on the mark on the expansion tank. To do this, wait for the engine to cool down, and carefully top up the antifreeze.
