How did you make the Saw?

Initially, the "Saw" was shot asshort thriller (duration about 10 minutes). It happened in Australia, and it was directed by James Van. The script was coined by Lee Wannell, who also played a major role in the film. James and Lee filmed the movie to offer material to other studios, but almost a year later they shot the full-length horror film, a short version entered the final material as one of the scenes.

How did you make the film "Saw"? Here are some interesting facts from the set:

  • The whole film was shot in just 18 days!
  • The film was so bloody that the director had to remove several scenes in order to get the category "R" for hire.
  • Initially, the film was planned to be released only on DVD discs.
  • Artist of the role of the Designer (Tobin Bell)I had to lie motionless on the floor for six days as a corpse in a makeup. Since the cost of a quality and believable dummy, to which it could be replaced in the filmed scenes, was prohibitive. So this technical solution was born. By the way, the actor's daily make-up took several hours a day.
  • According to the annotation to the film, the plot was based on nightmares from the childhood of the director and script writer.
  • The scriptwriter, Lee Wonnell, in some scenes had to replace the actors. And in one of them he even played Amanda!

How did you shoot the Saw 2 in 2005? Equally fleeting. In just 25 days packed.

  • For a scene with a pit with syringes it was used120 thousand syringes. And the whole four assistants within 4 days prepared these devices (they replaced the real needles with sham so that the actress would not get injured during filming.
  • The ending of the film to the last remained a secret from many participants in the filming (the actors did not receive the last pages of the script).
  • The entire classic story was filmed, without leaving the same room.
