How to assemble a 2x2 cube?

Rubik's cube 2x2 is called a mini version of the well-knownpuzzles. Collecting it is simpler than a cube of standard sizes. You can find out about this from the article of our site - How to collect a rubik's cube. And in this article we'll look at how to collect a Rubik's cube 2x2.

Cube sides

First of all, you should choose one of the partiescube as the main one. It will be called frontal (F / F). The other parties are coded in the diagrams as follows: N / D - bottom, B / U - upper, P / R - right, L / L - left, T / B - rear. A rotation of 90 degrees counter-clockwise is indicated by the symbol "'".

When all the notations are considered, you can proceed directly to the assembly.

The assembly of the mini-cube Rubik

  1. We collect the bottom layer. In this case, the elements adjoining it must coincide in color on each face. If you were to collect the standard Rubik's cube, you would start with the assembly of the upper cross. More on this in the article - How to assemble a cross in a cube of a rubik.
  2. We collect the top layer. To determine its color, you need to see which cubes are not in the bottom line. This is the color of the top layer. Now rotate the tip until one of the corners is in place, that is, it coincides in color not only with the tip, but also with the lateral faces. Subsequent actions can develop in two different scenarios: the change of cubes along the diagonal (VFVVP'V'F') or the change of neighboring cubes (FVF'V'L'V'L).
  3. We continue to collect corners. For this we produce a number of combinations:
    1. П'Н2ПФН2Ф'
    2. ФН2Ф'П'Н2П
    3. VFVVP'V'F '
    4. В2ФВ2Ф'В'ФВ'Ф'
    5. FVF2LFL2VLV2
    6. FVPV'P'F'V'2
    7. FVF'VFV2F'V2
    8. B2B'B'A2F'L'F2B'F'B

Those who coped with a 2 × 2 cube, you can go to the assembly of a 4x4 cube. Instructions here - How to assemble a 4x4 Rubik's Cube.

And for those who are interested not only in the assembly process, but also the mechanics of the world-famous puzzle, you can try making a Rubik's cube yourself. More about this you can read in the article of our site - How to make a Rubik's Cube.
