How to draw a space?
Probably, the most mysterious and the mostThe attractive in our universe is the cosmos. What do we know about him? Only that we are cosmic dust and in the scale of the universe each of us is nothing, while remaining an independent cosmos. Starting to draw space and wondering how to draw a space, first, look in yourself, into your soul. Close your eyes and try to feel this universe in yourself. In painting lessons, I always advise my students before I start to depict any detail, object or realization of a creative idea, relax, close my eyes and feel every cell of my body, how you become what you draw.
And if you're ready, then we'll start drawing a lesson. Now I will ask you also to relax and feel, what you want to portray, whether you will draw one planet from outer space, or you will depict the starry sky with a panarama from the earth. Today I will tell you two types of images of the cosmos: pencil and watercolor. Why so? Just knowing how to draw space with watercolor colors, we will know how to draw it by any others. A pencil is basically the basis of the basics and one of my most favorite materials.
How to draw colors and what colors to use
Feeling like a cosmos, feel like youwant to portray yourself. We will not be able to depict all the might of the cosmic level, no matter how skillful we are, therefore, we need to come up with a form in which our space is located. To begin with, you need to easily draw a pencil composition on watercolor paper. Be sure to use the rough side, as we will write in wet technique. Colors most vividly depicting the cosmos - blue, indigo, ultramarine, violet, kraplak, ocher and a few warm shades. First, wet the entire sheet with water. In advance it is necessary to priknopit it to the tablet, so that the paper is not distorted in the process of work. Now take the yellow shades and ocher and cover the sheet, a solid semitransparent layer. After this, leave a sheet to dry. When it dries, take a piece of paraffin, or wax from a conventional candle and, if you draw with a pencil, draw the places where you want to leave light spots. After that, you can safely cover all the space with dark and bright spots. Where you have drawn lines with wax - there will be stars, the rest of the space can be dissolved in different colors. The main thing do not forget to use deep blue and dark shades, they will create a sense of depth and "cosmic" of your picture.
Technique of drawing with a pencil
As for the image of space in pencil, thenhere the technique is a bit more complicated. We begin, as in watercolors, with the definition of composition and the main positions of the future picture. When I was asked for the first time how to draw a space with a pencil, then I did not even have an answer. Now I can say - classically. Only with the right classical strokes you can create a sense of spatiality. Start from the darkest places, carefully observing the shape and direction of the stroke. Then, little by little, go to the lighter plans. The main thing is to avoid hard lines and sharp corners. Space - it is soft, smooth and deep. This is what should be felt in your work.
And in all other respects, there is no specialrecommendations and directions, the main thing - creating a picture, create it from the heart. Write as you see in your soul. Your soul is the cosmos - to which you so strive!
