How to connect 3G-modem?

A modern user can no longer managewithout access to the network, while it does not have enough home Internet - I want the Internet to be always at hand, and therefore the options for mobile Internet are very popular today. In this article, I'll show you how to connect a 3G modem for mobile Internet to the tablet.

Where can I buy?

3G-modem can be bought today from any operatorand connect any favorite fare on it - there are a lot of them, but they usually differ only in the amount of traffic provided and in the amount of subscription fees. In this case, as a rule, the cost of the modem is credited to the customer in the account of the subscription fee.

How to connect?

3G-modem is a compact device withUSB-connector the size of a USB flash drive. Some tablet models have a USB connector, in which case there will not be any problems with the connection - the modem is simply inserted into the USB connector. However, most tablets do not have a USB connector, and in this situation you will need a special adapter.

If the tablet is equipped with a microUSB connector, which is most likely, you will need an OTG-USB On-the-Go adapter, one end of which has a USB connector, and the other has a microUSB.

If the tablet does not have a microUSB connector, try to find in the computer store a connector of the appropriate type - on the one hand should be a USB-connector, and on the other a connector of the type that your device is equipped with.

Configuring the tablet

After connecting the modem to the tablet, it must be configured:

  1. Go to the "Settings" on the tablet.
  2. Select the "Wireless Networks" settings item, then "More".
  3. Open the section "Mobile network", then - "Access Point" and specify its parameters (you can find this information from the provider who sold the modem to you).
  4. All! The modem should start working.

Please note that the title of the sectionsmay vary slightly depending on the tablet model. And by the way, if you do not want to mess with the settings yourself, you can contact the provider and ask for the office staff to configure the modem.

If there is no adapter

Of course, there is a possibility that the rightyou will not find an adapter, but in that case you should not be upset either, because you can organize access to a 3G network not using a 3G modem, but through a SIM card - all modern tablets are equipped with a SIM slot.

You need to contact the office of any operatorcommunication and explain the situation. Today, many operators even offer special tariffs for tablets that do not support voice and messaging options, but only provide the user with access to the network. Nevertheless, no one interferes with the connection of the classic operator tariff.

Important! Before purchasing a SIM, be sure to look at the device description, which SIM format it supports - classic, microSIM or nanoSIM.

When you connect the tariff and insert the SIM into the tablet, you will need to wait until the device finds the network and connects to it, and then go to the "Settings" section and perform the following manipulations:

  1. Open the "Wireless networks" section, select "More" and go to the "Mobile networks" menu.
  2. Select the item "APN APN" and set the parameters of the operator's network (you can check the parameters with the operator).

We warn that the names of the partitions may differ slightly depending on the tablet model. Also we remind you that you can contact the provider if you do not want to configure the device yourself.
