What is kyphosis?
Many face problems with curvature of the spine. One of the most common is kyphosis. Consider what kyphosis is and how you can get rid of it.
Kyphosis is the "C" -shaped curvature of the spine. As a rule, it forms in the thoracic region and leads to the appearance of a hump.
Causes
- Anomaly of development of vertebrae (congenital).
- Kyphosis can occur at a young age because of constant stoop and irregular posture.
- Such a curvature may also occur due to progressive osteochondrosis of the spine.
- And also other less common causes: age changes (old age), paralysis of the back muscles, rickets, tuberculosis, muscle weakness of the back.
Symptoms
- The thoracic kyphosis can be established visually. On the spine there is a large bulge with an angle of more than 45 degrees (less than 45 - the physiological norm).
- Also, such a curvature is accompanied by pain in the back and constant muscle spasms.
- In some cases, limb numbness and weakness are observed. This is due to pinching of the nerve roots.
- As a rule, people with kyphosis have breathing problems, normal functioning of the heart and digestive tract.
Treatment
In cases of fighting with kyphosis, good results can be achieved by the following set of procedures:
- physical exercises;
- massage;
- vacuum therapy or canned massage;
- Stone therapy;
- acupuncture or acupressure;
- reception of phytopreparations.
In particularly severe cases, treatment may not be possible.
For the prevention and treatment of a simple form of curvature, it is important to engage in therapeutic gymnastics, which improves blood circulation and saturation of body cells with oxygen.
