The word "seal" is used in a conversation betweenpeople often enough. Then we hear that this document without a seal is invalid, then we order as a gift a print of an interesting picture on a mug, then we ask a colleague to send a few more pages for printing.

And what is a seal?

The word "seal" is used by us in two senses:

  1. as a means of authenticating the document;
  2. as a way of making circulation products.

Printing as a means of authenticating documents

In this sense, the seal is a smallan object with a base of round, triangular or rectangular shape, which is stamped with ink on official documents. On a similar impression along the circumference, the full name of the organization should be read. The seal is certified by the authenticity of the signatures of the responsible persons. There are stamps on certificates, contracts, letters of guarantee, payment orders, powers of attorney.

Printing as a means of replicating images and texts

Since the invention of the printing press, printingbegan to call the printing method of making books, newspapers and magazines. Its essence consists in repeated printing on sheets of paper of the same text typed on a printed form.

The development of modern technologies has led to,that along with a typographical way of reproduction of texts there was also a digital seal. The process of replicating texts with the help of digital technology, we can carry out even at home, sending a document to the printer from the computer.

And if we sent a document for printing by mistake, then it can be canceled (read How to cancel printing).

Also, not only the printing method is called the production method for circulation products, but also the production itself (for example, periodic printing).
