What is discrimination?
Different groups and strata of society have the right to coexist, respecting mutual respect, having equal opportunities. But humanity at all times faced discrimination.
Restriction of the rights of some segments of society is still not supported by legislation.
What is discrimination?
By discrimination, this attitude toindividual or social groups, which implies infringement of their rights. Or in other words, this is a negative and unequal attitude of some people towards others in a developed civilized world. Unequal attributes are often understood as any significant difference in personality, such as religion, sexual orientation, race, nationality, occupation, citizenship, kinship, sex, age, disability, etc. Discrimination can occur both at the level of an individual and social groups or policies of the whole state. In a developed society with the development of democracy, humanism, the scale of the struggle has changed very much.
There are discrimination:
- legal, fixed in certain laws;
- Actual, which was informally developed in society.
For example, in the last century, humanity has madea big step in overcoming discrimination against women, in the struggle against legalized segregation on the basis of race, in recognizing the rights of religious minorities. But in the history of the twentieth century, terrible manifestations of racism, religious wars, ethnic cleansing, and the Holocaust are known. To successfully combat discrimination, special measures and programs are required at the government level. First of all, it is necessary to recognize the existing problem. And then successfully deal with it. In the modern world, everyone has the right to a dignified existence!
