The Seychelles are located in East Africa (about 1600 km east of the mainland). They are located in the western Indian Ocean, toward the south of the equator.

This state includes 115 islands. Only 33 of them are inhabited. All of them, according to the geological structure, are divided into two main types - coral and granite.

Coral islands are flat atolls. They rise above the sea level by a maximum of 8 meters.
