What is a fort?
Often in a conversation people use words, the meanings of which do not know or do not understand. In this article we will consider what the word forte means.
This word, derived from the musical environment, is more often used today in the name of drugs, but still in music.
"Forte" in the name of medicines
In Latin there is a word forte. In Russian it is translated as "strong", "strong", "persistent". In medicine this term is used as a "shock dosage" or "strong concentration". Therefore, if the name of the medicine is written on the package and the word forte is added, this will indicate that this preparation contains a doubled content of the active substance. For example, Essley Forte or Mezim Forte. Thus, it can be said that these are two tablets in one. However, this does not mean that if you are prescribed two tablets a day, you can replace it with one forte.
Tablets with the word forte on the package are coveredspecial shell. It dissolves well in the intestine and (unlike a regular tablet) is not digested immediately in the stomach. Basically preparations of the forte reach the duodenum, and their action begins there.
"Forte" in music
Forte is part of a piece of music that requires a loud, reinforced sound instrument. This concept also has the following meanings:
- Forte means "loudly" and requires maximum increase in the singer's voice.
- Forte is the fullness of the power of sound, which is the opposite of piano-quiet sound.
The term "fort" is associated with the term "strongly"relating to the volume of performance of a work or a part of it. The same word was placed in the name of the well-known musical instrument - piano, which is literally translated from Italian as "loud and quiet".
Forte can indicate the degree of loudness:
- Mezzo-forte says that to perform part of the work should be moderately quiet.
- Fortissimo points out the need to sing or play very loudly.
- Forte-piano speaks of a leap in volume. In this case, you first need to play loudly, and then immediately quietly.
