A solenoid is a spiral created from a conductor, inwhich in the presence of electric current generates a magnetic field with straight lines of force. Solenoids are made in the form of single-layer and multilayer windings. As a rule, the solenoid has the shape of a corkscrew and is surrounded around its axis by an iron piston.

Solenoid application
