What is manga?
Many of us, our friends and acquaintances, read inchildhood comics. Comics is a very popular literary genre, but in Japan it has not just a feature, rather an analogue, similar in shape to Western comics, but with its own individual characteristics. This is a comic book, best known as the manga. So, let's see what a manga is.
Manga is a literary genre from Japan. It is most similar to American comic books, but it has its own peculiarities:
- Manga is almost always produced in black and white, which is dictated by the requirements of high circulation and economy in production.
- read manga from top to bottom, from right to left (in Japanese)
- replicas of the heroes are even less than those of the Western comic book heroes, t.ch. there is really nothing to read there
The term "manga" in Japanese means"grotesque". This term became widespread in the beginning of the XIX century, with the birth of a manga culture in the works of such artists as Kankey Suzuki, Minva Aikawa and Katsushiki Hokusaya. Manga is a geographical name, that is, a manga can only be called a comic in Japan.
There are five manga formats:
- Series. Manga is released in several volumes on a single story, like a series
- One-shot. Manga comes out in one volume, usually about eighty pages
- Artbook. Special editions, issued to the popular series of manga, which include exclusive high-resolution sketches, separate "not included in the plot" episodes, sketches and sketches of the characters: is of enormous value for the fans
- The Yeonkoma. Four-panel manga: a short story in it is narrated in four figures.
- Dojinshi. Unprofessional, amateur manga, released unofficially and without ISBN.
