What is an underground?

Underground - the direction that is present inmusic, fashion, literature and mass culture. The concept of underground implies, first of all, the denial of established rules and standards in creativity, this is what is in the "underground". It is possible, perhaps, to give the following definition of what an underground is - a culture without censorship, a special irrational view of the world, which differs from the generally recognized in society principles and norms.

The underground develops in those spheres of art,where there are bans and vetoes. The more restrictions in a particular direction of culture or creativity, the stronger it will be observed the growth of the underground. Opposition and rebellion, derision of limitations and the spirit of freedom, the denial of all authorities and canons - this is what allows the stream to appear every time in an updated form, that's what the real underground is.

Non-standard and non-standard, emerging fromgenerally accepted boundaries, works in the genre of literature, music, cinema, painting or sculpture, all these are directions of the underground. Only what does not fit the usual and standard description, is a true underground.
