Things connected with their own hands - it's not justthread, intertwined. This is part of the master's soul, the embodiment of his creative ideas and skills. Anyone can learn to knit. And how to do it to beginner craftsmen, we will tell in this article.

Selection of material

Before you start knitting, you need to decide on the material with which you will work. After all, how you do it, all the further work depends.

Selection of knitting needles or hooks

To begin with, the needles and hooks must be selectedof medium size. They should be so long that you can comfortably hold them in your hand. For beginners, to learn how to knit, experienced craftsmen recommend choosing iron knitting needles, since they sit best in the hand, and the yarn on them slips better.

Choice of yarn

In specialized stores a fairly large selection of yarns. Distinguish:

  • Natural (woolen, silk, cotton);
  • synthetic (acrylic);
  • mixed yarn.

If you are just learning to knit, you need tochoose a mixed yarn, since it is not so stretched when knitting and keeps the shape. It should be noted that the thread should be 1.5-2 times thicker than the hook or knitting needle. For more information, see How to learn to knit.

After selecting the right tool and material, you can start working.

Manufacture of scarf

Scarf is the easiest product. It is customary to begin with it, if you are learning to knit.

Material:

  • knitting needles - 2 pcs;
  • yarn - 100 gr (80 meters).

The longer the scarf you need, the more yarn you should take.

Progress:

As a result, you will get a scarf about 110 cm long and 20 cm wide with a picture "Large rice". The scarf is knitted in several stages:

  1. Type 22 loops and tie four rows only facial (garter stitch). The first edge loop is removed, and the latter is sewn with the wrong loop.
  2. Knit the drawing "Large rice", but on the sidescontinue to knit with garter stitch. To do this, remove the first edge loop and tie two facial, then two purl and two facial (this picture), then again two facial. Edge loops should be purl.
  3. The next row tends to the opposite: where were the purl, knit the facial, and where the facial - purl. And do so every two rows.
  4. Knit to the required length.
  5. At the end, fasten 4 rows of garter stitch and close the row. The scarf is ready.

We knit mittens

If you want to connect not only a scarf, but also mittens, then for beginners it is necessary to choose a simple scheme. Mittens can be knit in several ways:

  • on two spokes - in this case, you have to sew the fabric of the product;
  • on five spokes - circular weaving.

The second option is more in demand.

Course of knitting:

  1. Measure the widest part of the palm. A woman leaves an average of 20 cm.
  2. Next, calculate the number of loops: 20 cm * 1, 7 (knitting density horizontally) = 34 loops. If the result is divided into 4 spokes, it turns out - on 8.5 loops, round up to 9 loops.
  3. Mittens are knitted on 5 spokes from top to bottom. Type on each spoke in turn 9 loops in such a way as to form an inseparable circle. Then take the fifth spoke and with it in a circle tie a row behind a number. Do not forget that the last loop of the previous section is the first loop of the next. In this way, tie a rubber band.
  4. Then, adding a few loops, tie the main part to the thumb.
  5. Hinges in place of the alleged thumbclose and continue to knit the ground. When the base of the mittens reaches the little finger, start loosening the loops. On the side parts, tie two loops together, turning the first loop. Knit this way until you have 2 loops left to tighten.
  6. Make a thumb. Type 7 loops on the spoke, which were closed, and on the other 8 rows. Circuit 18 circles with face loops and close the end.

Soon you will learn how to knit simple products, andthen you can go to more complex ones. In addition, you can use not only knitting needles, but also a hook.
