• Take the newspaper and make the workpiece, that isyou need to cut pieces of paper not more than 2х2 cm. Such pieces will need a lot. It is permissible to make blanks of smaller size, and it is better not to cut them, but to tear them, so that the edges are made with fibers. In this case, when pasting the next fragment on the form, the boundaries will not be so noticeable. The same pieces should be prepared from tracing paper or white thin paper, but they will need a little less. To make a hand-made papier-mache, you need to choose the plate as the basis, because the shape of the plate we need to get. So, take this plate, and apply a thin layer of any cream or petroleum jelly to it. This is to ensure that the resulting paper form is then easily detached from the base, that is, the plates.
• Begin to glue the pieces on a plate so thateach subsequent fragment slightly covered the previous one. All even layers are best covered with a colored newspaper, and odd ones - with white or black paper. Otherwise, because of the variegation of the newspaper, you will not see - a new layer you glue or old. According to the rules, it is necessary to apply glue to pieces of paper with a brush, but in practice it is better to pour the glue in the saucer, and each piece of paper is dipped on one side, and glued to the base, that is, the plate, and be sure to iron the saucer with your fingers. In exactly the same way, make 8-10 layers and leave it all to dry out, about a day. Then continue to work, only with slices of white paper. Depending on the type of paper used, there may be 4 to 8 layers of white. If you have any fears that the plate may break afterwards, we recommend in the middle of the work to lay a layer of gauze, it will give the product an additional strength. Then leave the form to dry also for a day.
• After all the paper layers are completelydried, carefully remove from the plate the shape that turned out. The side that was adjacent to the plate, completely consists of pieces of newspaper. It should be "hidden", best of all with white blanks. Now draw the plate to your taste and the hand-crafted article is ready.
