There is an opinion that men are too busyfamily and work, and they do not have time to read. To fully provide for the family, a modern man has to work hard. Coming from work, a man does not want to strain his brain reading, it's easier to watch football, a telecast. So what do men read? And do they read at all?

In the last century, men read morenow. But it is not so. Men have not lost interest in reading. They are interested in literature, especially modern, but prefer e-books and online versions. Perhaps, therefore, gifts in the form of ordinary books have recently become irrelevant.

The World Wide Web has filled our entire life. Even aesthetic pleasure in the form of reading a book and watching theater performances people get online. Modern men are too busy, at lunch time they can read news or some interesting article published in their favorite online newspaper or magazine, although publishers of men's glossy magazines do not complain about low ratings. Yet it is much easier for a man to read the same men's magazine in the Internet version than to spend time and money on buying it.

Men are most interested in literature, concerning their specialty. They are too busy, and they devote their free time to the family. As most of them say, reading is useful until a certain time, when it brings more benefits than other activities. If a business man has a choice, what to do in his spare time, he is unlikely to prefer reading.

Still, even the most business men often have a desire to read the art book. What books are read by men, which authors? What genres are preferred?

Most of them are interested in moderndetectives and science fiction. Among the detectives in men, the most popular is Boris Akunin. The author of the screened books "Turkish Gambit" and "State Councilor" amazes with the glamority of the plot and unpredictable denouement. Also among the stronger sex there are many admirers of Paulo Coelho. Men are not averse to reread philosophical novels about the realistic struggle between good and evil, the meaning of life. Moreover, Coelho has enough intriguing views on life, love, sex, family.

As for fiction, in the first placemen are listed authors such as the Strugatsky brothers, Isaac Asimov, Sergei Lukyanenko, Stephen King. Also, men prefer a style of fiction such as fantasy. Here Tolkien, Nick Perumov is in high esteem.
