Turning to the issue of installation, let's talk about two existing modes that are delimited by the way they are installed.
- Mods that are installed by simple copying to the mods folder (the ModLoader loader will catch them later, more on this later).
- Mods that are set by modifying the minecraft.jar file. At least once you have to perform this operation, so the boot loaders are installed.
Step 1: the minecraft.jar file
So, this is the first thing you need to find this file. The ways of its finding are somewhat different for different versions of windows. We will analyze these cases.
- For windows 95/98 / XP: in the Start we find the line Run, where we write:% AppData%. There you will find the minecraft folder, and in it go to the bin folder. Then you will see the desired file minecraft.jar.
- For windows vista and 7: find drive C: in My computer and we climb into the Users folder, where we search for "User Name" - the name of your profile on the computer. Next: AppData, where you go to the folder Roaming. Here everything is already familiar: the folder minecraft and then - bin.
Step 2: Fit Mod
- Passed one of the above paths and make a backup copy of minecraft.jar.
- In the directory of the game, in the bin bin is the archiver, with the help of which we open minecraft.jar.
- Open the archive with the one you liked, and select all the files there and drag it into the minecraft.jar archive.
- By the way, do not forget to delete the folder META-INF, otherwise you will not run the game.
If you use ModLoader, then the modes working through it should be added to the mods folder, which will be created automatically next to the bin folder.
