Suspension and slowdowns of those or otherprocesses, implemented on the computer, is a common practice, however, when this practice extends to watching your favorite movie, and in general video, this, of course, is very unpleasant.

Let's figure out why the video slows down on a computer or laptop and how to fix it.

Hangs up video: reasons

Codecs - not available or obsolete

Video codecs are system libraries thatallow the operating system to work correctly with video of various formats. In the event that the necessary codecs are not installed or they are obsolete, the video can either not be played at all or "slowed down". How to solve this problem? Update or download codecs. We recommend using K-lite Codec Pack Mega.

Video card drivers - out of date or incorrectly installed

In this case, you must first specify the name of the driver (listed in the "Video adapters" section of the "Device Manager" menu) and download it from the manufacturer's website.

If the drivers are downloaded in.exe, just click on the file twice, and the installation will begin in the automatic mode. If you downloaded the archive, go to the "Video adapters" section, right-click on the name of the video card and click "Update drivers", and then specify the path to the archive as required by the system.

Too many running processes

Perhaps the video is slowing down simply becausetoo many processes are running on the PC. This problem is especially typical for computers and laptops with low performance. To solve it, just complete a few unnecessary processes.

Viruses

Of course, viruses can also cause a slowdown, in which case we recommend checking the PC for viruses. If the antivirus is not installed, you can download a free trial version here.

Well, and of course, do not forget that the problem can be covered in the video itself, if all the videos on the computer are reproduced without problems, and one hangs, probably the problem directly in the file.
