Windows 8: where is the control panel?

One of the most common questions on Windows 8 -where is the control panel? The interface in the new operating system is redesigned so radically that it is difficult to understand it without assistance. The "Start" menu disappeared, and with it the usual buttons. In this article we will tell you how to find the Control Panel in Windows 8, and in addition, you may be interested in the article How to configure Windows 8, where, in particular, you will learn how to configure the taskbar settings.

Where is the control panel in Windows 8

There are several ways to get to the Panelcontrol in Windows 8. If you do not mind using keyboard combinations, press [Win] + [X] (just in case, we explain that [Win] is the key with the Windows logo flag). A menu appears, in which there is a link to the Control Panel.

The same menu can be seen by clicking on the rightmouse button in the lower left corner of the screen. In Windows 8, when you hover the cursor on this corner, a pop-up thumbnail of the initial screen appears, and in Windows 8.1 in this corner the "Start" button with a check mark is constantly displayed.

Another way to get into the Control Panel -go to the home screen and start writing the keyword "Control Panel" right there. A list of search results will open, in which the link to the Control Panel will be the first. You can also access the search from the desktop - press the [Win] + [S] keys or move the cursor along the right side of the screen and click the "Search" button in the appeared panel.
