And there is a category of festive dates, about which you do not particularly remember. Mention of them can be traced in news reports, newspaper articles. Such festive dates in the country are considered "young". The Day of Russia can be classified as such holidays. The question arises: when is Russia Day?
The origins of the holiday arose on June 12 in the distant1990, on that day a document was adopted, which is called the "Declaration on the State Sovereignty of Russia". Few people know that on June 12, 1992, this day was called the "Day of adoption of the Declaration on the State Sovereignty of Russia". (Incidentally, this name had a holiday until 2002). In the people this holiday was called Independence Day for simplicity.
After several years, on June 12, 1998, Yeltsin Boris Nikolaevich made an initiative to give the holiday another name - the Day of Russia.
The name of the holiday - Russia Day on February 1, 2002 was approved.
When celebrate the Day of Russia?
The holiday is celebrated annually - on June 12 with the flag raised all over the country. Today, Russia Day is a national holiday, which deserves respect and is a day off in our country.
