How to connect the Dir 620?

D-Link DIR-620 - one of the most popular models of the router. It is in demand because of its versatility, serviceability and low price. In this article, I'll show you how to connect the DIR-620.

Connectivity

The DIR-620 has 4 Ethernet connectors forconnections to a computer, they are numbered 1,2,3,4 and are grouped into a LAN group. In addition, there is one connector, called INTERNET, and one network connector. The latter must be connected to a network cable, ending with a classic plug; to the INTERNET connector - the Internet cable that the provider has put into your apartment. The connection of the router and the computer is done by an Ethernet cable: insert one end into the Ethernet connector of the computer, the other into one of the four ethernet connectors of the router.

Customize

The router is configured as follows:

Open any browser, enter the address in the address bar - 192.168.0.1 and press "Enter".
In the appeared window in both fields - "Username" and "Password", enter the word "admin".
In the next window, set the desired system password.
Now we find the "Network" option in the modem parameters, then "Connections" and click the "Add" button.
In the "General Settings" section, we specify "Name", "Connection Type" - PPPoE, put a tick in the "Enable" box, in the "MAC" section - 34: 08: 04: 12: F5: BB.
In the "PPP Settings" section, specify the desired name and password, which is usually specified in the contract.
This completes the network settings, it remains to configure Wi-FI, for this select the appropriate section, then - "General Settings", put a checkmark next to the "Enable Wireless Connection" option.
Now go to the "Basic settings", set the name of the home network in front of the "SSID" parameter.
Finally, go to the "Encryption settings" position, set the network password, select "WPA encryption" - TKIP + AES, "Network Authentication" - WPA-PSK / WPA2-PSK mixed.
Save the settings.

Everything, the modem is tuned and ready to use!
