Traditional YouTube usernameit is unfortunately impossible to change it. But the service offers a workaround: link your channel with a page in the social network Google+. In this case, it is possible to choose a suitable name for the channel.

To link a channel to Google+, click on itavatar (or standard square, if you do not have an avatar) in the upper right corner of the YouTube page, and then click on the gear icon. On the "Account Settings - General Information" page, click the "Advanced" link. On the page that opens, click the link "Link to a Google+ page" and select the "Create a new name" option. Enter a name for the channel and click "Next".

If your profile is already linked to Google+, it does not matteryou can change the name on YouTube. To do this, click on your avatar in the upper right corner of YouTube and click on the gear icon. On the "General Information" page that opens, click the "Edit on Google+" link. You will be redirected to the social network page with a form for changing the name. Enter a more appropriate name for the channel and click the "Save" button.

There is also an alternative way to change the name of the channelon YouTube via Google+. Open your channel and click on the pencil icon opposite its name, on the right side of the page. Select the "Channel Settings" option. You will get to the already described page "General Information". Then proceed in the same way: click the "Edit in Google+" link, specify a new name and click the "Save" button.

Finally, note that the name on Google+ can beto change not more often than once in 90 days, especially if you created your profile quite recently and already changed the name. Therefore, when choosing a new name, do not rush and carefully think over everything.
