How to put the password on the router?
Every PC owner wants tobe sure of the security of your data. Protection is provided to him in many ways not by the modern antivirus, but by himself. At the same time, the lion's share is played by network configurations and Internet access.
Errors in the process of setting become opendoors for criminals of all kinds. Therefore, the data should be protected at the threshold, which in this case is the router. At a minimum, you should put a password on it.
Web-based interface
To administer the router, a special "Web-interface" panel is used, which is available in any browser. In order to enter it, you must:
- find its IP address on the bottom cover of the device (usually 192.168.1.1), as well as the factory login and password;
- connect the router to the computer via a cable;
- open any browser;
- type in the input field of the IP address of your router and press "Enter";
- In the appeared window specify the standard login and password (usually "admin-admin" or "admin-1234") and press "Enter".
Change Password
The administration panel of the router is similar to a site with a large number of pages and fields, where you can enter your variables.
To put the password on the router you usually need:
- go to the "Maintenance" section;
- open subsection (tab) "Administration";
- in the "New password" field enter a new password;
- repeat the new password in the "Confirm Password" field;
- click the "Save" or "Apply" button.
Even if the existing router has a different layout of the Web interface, the form for changing the password will be in the "Maintenance" section.
