We mold from mastic
Preparation of the workplace
Clean and dry the table thoroughly with a layer of powder. It is desirable to use a fine powder - it will not allow the rolled mastic to burst.
It will take
- rolling pin;
- powdered sugar powder;
- finished mastic of different colors;
- knife;
- nail scissors (clean and disinfected);
- toothpicks;
- thin brush number 1;
- a thick flat brush (like a paintbrush).
If you do not already have the material to work with, read our article How to make mastic.
Process
- Roll the mastic to the desired size. The layer should turn out
about 3 mm. In case the mastic is not easily rolled up, lightly heat it in a microwave - it will regain elasticity again. - Carefully transfer the layer to the prepared cake. It should be done quickly, because the mastic easily stretches under its own weight, and in the worst case it does break.
- From the top and sides of the cake with your fingers, smooth the layer and smooth out the creases formed.
- Cut off the excess.
- Unevenness can be covered with a brush dipped in water.
Now we turn to the manufacture of decorativeelements - blot the figures. Mastic can be compared with edible plasticine. To glue one part of the figure to another, you just need to moisten the place of contact with water.
Let's try to mold the figures of Masha and the Bear from the popular cartoon out of mastic.
We sculpt Masha and the Bear
For convenience, we advise you to put in front of a picture - on it and we will navigate.
So, let's start with Mashenka
- Pinch off a piece of beige mastic, roll the ball - head. Form cheeks, nose, lips; make holes for the eyes.
- Blind the trapezoid bangs from the yellow mastic and attach it to the head. We will not do all the hair, because Masha wears a kerchief. Make it from a pink mastic and wrap it in your head.
- Draw your eyes with food colors using a thin brush and toothpick.
- From pink mastic, roll a thick "sausage" - the body of our Masha - and form a figure resembling a bell from her. It will be a coat.
- Add a white "fur" - a strip, sleeves, mittens and boots looking out from under the coat.
- Stick a toothpick into the center of the body and put a head on it. Add knots to the handkerchief.
We sculpt a bear
- Similarly, build a bear from brown mastic. The most difficult will be to blind the muzzle. Remember that it should be elongated, with a black nose in the form of a heart.
- The muzzle is made in two colors - dark brown and light brown.
- We attach ears, eyebrows, eyes, a tail.
- We sculpt a body with legs (whole). Add the puziko, made of light brown mastic.
- Attach the head to the body in the manner described above.
- It remains only to "plant" our figures on the cake.
- Also you can dazzle and additional elements, making the cake "plot".
Attention! Children should eat figurines under the supervision of adults - remember that they have toothpicks hidden in them.
