If you decide to build a house, garage or some kind ofanother building made of bricks, you will need to calculate how much brick is required for construction. In this article we will tell you how many bricks are used in the masonry and on what factors this quantity depends.
How is the number of bricks measured in the masonry?
Two methods for calculating bricks in brickwork are generally accepted:
- In the first case, calculate how many bricks in m2 masonry.
- In the second case, calculate how many bricks in m3 masonry. This method is suitable only if you use the same type of brick everywhere and the thickness of the walls is the same everywhere.
What does the expense depend on?
If we calculate the exact number of bricks inmasonry, it is necessary to consider many factors: the type of brick used, the thickness of the joints, the material from which the brick is made, and so on. Some of these factors are less important, so they are not taken into account when calculating.
How to count
To calculate how many bricks you need for construction, you will need to decide which brick you plan to use. Depending on the type of brick on 1 m2 masonry required:
Single brick with laying in half a brick: 61 pcs. without taking into account the solution, 51 pcs. - with a solution; - Semifixed bricks will require 45 pcs. without taking into account the solution and 39 pcs. - with a solution;
- Double bricks with mortar and without need 30 pcs. and 26 pcs. respectively.
At 1 m3 laying will require:
- Single brick with mortar and without 512 pcs. / 400 pcs.
- Brick: 379 pcs. / 305 pcs.
- Double brick: 242 pieces. / 205 pcs.
