How to calculate square meters?
From time to time, we face a problem, likecalculate the square meters: when calculating the payment for utilities or during repairs, when you need to calculate how many rolls of wallpaper you need to paste walls, or how many paint cans.
In fact, all these data are indicated in the technical passport, where a clear layout of the apartment is given, the number of square meters of each room and the total area of the apartment are indicated.
How to calculate square meters of walls
If there is no passport, but you still needfind out, for example, how to calculate the square meters of walls, then to do it, in fact, is not so difficult. For this you will need school knowledge of geometry. Namely, the formula of the area of the rectangle S = a * b. That is, you need to multiply the height of your walls by the width. To do this, you need to do the following:
- Measure the width of the wall. It is best to do this on the floor or ceiling line, since these lines are most perpendicular.
- Change the height of the wall. This is the distance from floor to ceiling. As a rule, in "Khrushchev" it is 2.5 m, in "brezhnevka" - 3 m, in "stalinkas" - 3.5 or 4 m. But it is best to measure yourself, so as not to lose.
- Learn the area. The obtained values should be multiplied among themselves - and you have the sum of the square meters of one wall.
- Sum of areas. Since there is not one wall in the room, but four, you need to do the same operations with the rest of the walls, and then fold the resulting 4 squares. As a result, you will have square meters of the walls of the entire room.
- Subtract excess. In each room there is at least one entrance. In modern apartments are very fashionable redevelopment with different arched and other openings. Naturally, if you need to calculate the number of rolls of wallpaper, then this distance you do not need. Therefore, measure the height and width of the opening, multiply them and subtract the resulting number from the total number of meters of walls.
As you can see, nothing is complicated in this. If you are wondering how to calculate the square meters of a room, then it's even easier.
How to calculate the square meters of a room
The basic formula is the same. Only now we need the length and width of the floor.
- We measure the width. If you have furniture along the wall, do not immediately drag it somewhere. You can quite measure the width of the wall or ceiling - the room is made up of rectangles, and the parallel sides are equal.
- We measure the length. We measure the adjacent wall / floor / ceiling.
- We find the area. We multiply the figures obtained - that's all.
If you need to calculate the square meters of the whole apartment, the principle is the same: consider every room, corridors and storerooms, and then add everything together.
So everything is simple.
