How do parrots sing?

In the wild, there are more than 280 speciesparrots, but next to a person, mostly live the most beautiful and vociferous. Choosing a parrot, we primarily pay attention to the bright coloring, artistic data, the ability to reproduce various sounds, including human speech, and the melody of singing.

Different kinds are inherent in various musicaltalents. Some parrots bark and scream like piglets, others whistle in different ways, others croak, the fourth grumble, and the singing of some, for example, dwarf parrots, resembles a smithy in which a dozen blacksmiths work.

If you've never heard parrots sing, thenremember - the bigger the bird, the louder and more piercing will be her scream. A flock of parrots of Kakadu, Ara and other large representatives of this family is able to disrupt any listener, especially if it is a joint chorus consisting of different species. Parrots in captivity display amazing abilities to imitate all sounds that are heard. They whistle songs, speak individual words, and sometimes whole phrases, and make it meaningful.

Singing parrots

Among feathered singers, it is difficult to single out a single species that has won universal recognition. The voice of each of them has its own unique tonality, sound and depth. We represent you the three leaders.

  • Wavy parrots. From morning till night they tweet, chirp and whistle, expressing joy, anger, aggression. And singing of each bird individually. If you listen to the way the wavy parrots sing, you can easily understand in what mood they are. Sharp, ragged sounds speak of discontent, "quackers" mean panic or protest, and gentle "miaowing" and cozy cooing parrot begs for goodies. Waves can imitate singing birds, imitate musical instruments, animal voices and everyday sounds.
  • Corella. Due to the developed hearing by nature, it is easy to reproduce a melody you like, and even its vocal part. Many people consider their voice very strange, because they can lisp, bang and whistle during a conversation.
  • Cockatoo. They can take very high notes, and easily sing the words. But sometimes their high voice breaks down into a loud and unpleasant squeal, deafening listeners.
