What is scleroderma?
If someone has a question, what isscleroderma, to respond briefly and understandably will be quite difficult. We can say that this is an "autoimmune" disease, it can be noted that women suffer from it four times more often than men, it can be comforted that it is extremely rare. Doctors say that scleroderma manifests itself in all sorts of seals. The easiest way to notice it is when it affects the skin: the people define it as a disease that turns a person into a stone. And this corresponds to reality: over time, the affected skin becomes insensitive and very hard. However, it also happens that scleroderma affects the internal organs - and then its recognition is even more difficult.
What causes scleroderma
Until now, medicine has not established the exactthe causes of this disease. The factors that contribute to its development are the long-term effects of harmful chemistry (most often in production), radiation exposure, prolonged hypothermia, chronic severe infections ... However, they can not be called causes of the disease, because in other people it did not develop.
Difficulties in diagnosing
Worst of all, in the early stagesIt is impossible to establish what a person has: scleroderma or something simpler. It is masked for lupus, arthritis caused by rheumatism, polymyositis and many other diseases. And in the late stages of a correct diagnosis is not enough to help.
Treatment of scleroderma
As such, there is no escape from this disease. There are some techniques aimed at alleviating the general condition and removing certain symptoms. However, most patients can only count on the future successful development of innovators of medicine.
