What is Scientology?
Scientology. Many probably heard this word more than once. Some, most likely, remembered the name of the Hollywood "handsome" Tom Cruise. And someone thought about something unpleasant, about sectarians and their terrible deeds. Until now, the arguments of opponents and defenders of Scientology have not ceased. Scientology - what is it? An authoritarian sect or philosophical doctrine? Fraud in its purest form or a new religion? Let's try to understand.
In the 50s of the twentieth century, the American RonaldHubbard came up with the term Scientology. It includes the Latin root "scio" - knowledge, know and the Greek root "logos" - inner thought, study. In other words, this term can be deciphered as a "science of knowledge" or "knowledge of knowledge." Further, the enterprising writer decided to develop this idea and created a whole doctrine called Scientology, which very soon became very popular.
So what is Scientology? It is a system of knowledge that is based on several fundamental laws:
- man is an immortal spiritual being;
- one human life is not at all the limit of life experience, it is much broader and more global;
- the potential of a single person has no boundaries and limitations, it is simply not implemented by the majority.
Thus, many researchers attributeScientology to religious philosophy, because it studies the spirit and its possibilities, the relationship of the individual spirit with itself and with the surrounding world, with the universe and even other forms of life.
Despite the fact that Scientology has manyopponents, its popularity is growing every day. Throughout the world, churches, missions, groups and organizations have been opened for the professing of this religion - philosophy - teaching.
